Ayisha Robb

Ms. Robb is a rare combination of being a warm person and an intense litigator. Indeed, she is fearless. Ayisha has maintained a torrid pace of social engagements that she started prior to entering the legal profession. Retrospectively, her varied, yet meaningful social activities, have prepared her for the hectic lifestyle of   high level litigation.

Miss Robb  completed her academic training at the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados in 2005 then went on to complete the professional stage of the qualification  process at the Norman Manley Law School, Jamaica, which led to her being enrolled  in 2007 as an attorney-at-law in Jamaica.

Ayisha’s real world experience before, during, and after being called to the bar cuts across   the practice areas of regulation of financial services, insolvency, estate management, organizational management, complex litigation research, private international law,  civil litigation at all levels of the court hierarchy-trial preparation and appearances; submissions for injunctions or application for court orders; appellate briefs; and oral arguments.

Since 2010, Ms. Robb has been lecturing at the Faculty of Law, University of Technology, Jamaica in equitable remedies, estates, equity, trust and substantive criminal law. She also serves as a marker of advanced secondary school law examinations administered throughout the Caribbean region.

Although trained as an attorney-at-law, Ms. Robb is well equipped and experienced to be fit easily into the role as an English barrister or an American trial lawyer.

Ms. Robb co-produced and co-wrote “Meeting Adolescent Development and Participation Rights” a UNICEF project that has won wide international readership and commendations.   Also, Ayisha served as host of the television series: “Teen Seen”. Currently, she is a mooting trainer for the Caribbean Court of Justice’s Annual International Mooting Competition, which is held in Trinidad and Tobago. She is also chairperson for the Land Adjudication Committee (South St. Catherine Division), National Land Agency, an appointment by the current Prime Minister of Jamaica (The Hon. Andrew Holness) under the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation. She was appointed as chairperson of this Board in December 2017 and the appointment was gazetted. Her tenure will expire in December 2023.

Ms. Robb is now a senior Attorney-at-Law pursuant to the legislation governing attorneys in Jamaica. She is well experienced in the practice of land law. She also continues to succeed in criminal trials, some of which have been reported by media houses. One of her greatest success stories is the oft cited land battle case of Violet McFarlane v. Kathleen Eugster where the respondent was able to revive a claim for possession of land against hundreds of squatters.

Ayisha enjoys community service and is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association and current chairperson of her church’s Board of Trustees (Mount Olivet Apostolic), which is situated in the parish of St. Andrew, and of Pentecostal origin.
